Prayers Change Lives

My goodness. Jesus said that if I want to be considered a child of God, then I need to pour out prayers on behalf of those who persecute me.

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:43-45).

I’m in a good season just now and not having to stretch when it comes to loving and praying for all those around me. But I realize that things can change and I need to be willing to do whatever Christ requires when such times arise.

You might be under attack at work or school or home or even at church in one way or another.

Love those who aren’t loving you.

Pray for those who are preying upon you.

Perhaps that will change their attitudes toward you.

But even if it doesn’t, you’ll be showing that you have the desire to be seen as one of God’s children.

And that’s always a good thing.
