SouthWinds Christian Church participates in the Angel Food Ministry, a non-profit, non-denominational food cooperative committed to providing food assistance to families throughout the United States.

The mission? PROVIDE A HAND UP, NOT A HAND-OUT!

Angel Food was founded on the principal of helping neighbors and friends in times of need. We provide boxes of food at substantial savings that consist of high-quality proteins and nutritional items. Every month, Angel Food creates a tasty menu that consists of both fresh and frozen food items.

Because of our buying power and low overhead, we are able to sell a box of food directly to you for a deeply discounted price! That’s a cost savings that will help you expand your food budget every month.

One box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about a week or a single person for nearly a month. The food you find in an Angel Food box is the same quality as one would purchase at a food retailer. There is no limit on the number of boxes that an individual or family can purchase.

Angel Food participates in the U.S. Food Stamp Program (SNAP)

The average monthly government allowance of Food Stamps often yields less than three weeks’ worth of groceries. This frequently leads to recipients making cheaper, unhealthier food choices. Angel Food’s program can stretch those Food Stamps to six, even seven weeks worth of good food for your home.

Angel Food has no qualifiers and participation is open to anyone and everyone, even those not in financial need.

Because Angel Food is a non-profit organization, if you or your organization purchase food to donate to someone in need in your community, that gift may be tax-deductible as a charitable donation.

1.       What is Angel Food Ministries?

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the USA.

2.       What is the cost of the food?

A basic “Signature” box of Angel Food can be purchased for $30.

3.       What is the retail value of the box of food?

Depending on your location, a box retails anywhere from $45 to $75 with an average retail value of right around $60.

4.       How much food is in a box?

An average box of food weighs around 21 lbs. The weight may differ each month. A box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single senior citizen for almost a month.

5.       What food options does Angel Food offer?

In addition to the Signature Box, Angel Food Ministries also offers Senior Meals and Allergen Free Boxes, as well as “Special Units”. The “Specials” are mostly savings on proteins and produce. (Special #1: 6.5 lb. Assorted Meat Grill Box which typically contains steak, pork chops, Hamburger Steaks and Italian Sausage for $23.00, Special #2 4.5 lb. Steak Combo with 2.5 lbs. of  Ribeye Steaks and 2 lbs. of  Sirloin Steak for $22.00 and a Fruit and Veggie Special which typically contains 25-28 lbs. of premium fresh produce for $22.00)

6.       Is the food fresh?

Because of Angel Foods involvement with only the best producers and venders our products are high quality, “name brand” foods – never “seconds” or “day old type” products. Each month’s food menu consists of both fresh and frozen items.

7.       Will I know what the food offered is in advance?
Angel Food Ministries produces a monthly menu to inform customers of what food items will be available a full month in advance.

8.       How much food may I purchase?

There is no limit on the number or types of boxes an individual or family may purchase.

9.   Do I need to qualify for the program?

There are no applications or qualifications, anyone can participate. Angel Food Ministries also participates in SNAP, the U.S. Food Stamp Program, using the Off-Line Food stamp Voucher system. This ensures that the needy in our area are getting the maximum value for their grocery dollar, usually resulting in their receiving twice the amount of quality foods for their “food stamp dollar”

10.   Where do I purchase the food?

Food can be purchased online at www.angelfoodministries.com or by clicking on the black Angel Food Ministries logo on the right of this page

11.   What if there is not a host site in my area?

Angel Food Ministries is growing rapidly. We hope to soon be able to serve the entire U.S.A. Please contact our offices and speak with our Ministry Development Department for further details.

Orders and payments are either collected by each individual host site during the first part of each month, or through our online shopping cart at www.angelfoodministries.com.

13.   Where do I pick up my order?
